Expert Summary
The Orange Pi 6 is a 90 x 90 mm edge AI board built on the 12-core 64-bit CIX CD8180 (CIX P1) with a dedicated NPU rated at 28.8 TOPS and a GPU supporting 8K decode and hardware ray tracing. It carries 128-bit LPDDR5 memory at up to 6400 MT/s in 8, 16 or 24 GB configurations, two M.2 Key-M 2280 slots for NVMe SSDs over PCIe 4.0 x4, and dual 2.5GbE Ethernet. Display output covers HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, eDP and DisplayPort over both full-function Type-C ports.
Multiple benchmark runs available. Perfect for seeing how different OS versions, kernels, and carrier boards may impact performance numbers. For example, Raspberry Pi OS vs Ubuntu on the Raspberry Pi 5, or official vs third-party carrier boards for your CM5.
Every figure above comes from hardware run in-house by Bret Weber, on the exact OS build, kernel, firmware and boot device listed here. Boards are tested to a fixed procedure so results stay comparable between them: see our testing methodology for how each benchmark is run.
