About PassMark SBC Benchmark Rankings testing
PassMark PerformanceTest is a widely used commercial benchmark, and its Linux edition gives us two headline numbers. CPU Mark combines integer, floating point, prime number, sorting, encryption, compression and physics tests across every core into one score. Memory Mark covers RAM read and write speed, latency and database-style operations, so it is a good indicator of how much a board's memory subsystem holds its CPU back. We run the official PassMark build at the medium test length with the same settings on every board. Both scores sit on PassMark's own scale, so they can be compared with results for desktop PCs as well. Higher is better.
