Frequently Asked Questions
What is the fastest single board computer in 7-Zip?
The Radxa Dragon Q8B 32GB currently tops our 7-Zip ranking with 40,412 (Multi-Core (MIPS)), measured on real hardware with our standardised test setup.
What is a good 7-Zip score for an SBC?
Across the 101 boards we have tested, 7-Zip results range from 306 to 40,412 (Multi-Core (MIPS)), with a median of 3,658. Anything above the median puts a board in the faster half of the market.
About 7-Zip testing
7-Zip's built-in benchmark measures compression and decompression performance in MIPS. Because it is light on memory, it runs on virtually every board we test, from 256MB classics through to flagship boards with 32GB of RAM. That reach makes it our broadest and most comparable CPU ranking, and it is the default sorting metric across the site. Compression stresses memory latency and integer performance; decompression is almost pure CPU, so the combined figures give a well-rounded picture.
