Orange Pi 6 Cooler Comparison

Comparing 2 cooling configurations for the Orange Pi 6. SoC: CIX P1.

Thermal Analysis

We tested 2 cooling configurations on the Orange Pi 6, built around the CIX P1, each with an identical 60 minute sustained CPU stress workload. With the stock Orange Pi Cooler, the board idles at 35°C and peaks at 52°C under load and completes the full test without thermal throttling.

Across all configurations, peak temperatures ranged from 52°C to 59°C, a spread of 7°C. 1 of 1 aftermarket cooler completed the test without any thermal throttling. The Orange Pi 6 can run without extra cooling, but even a basic heatsink lowers operating temperatures and helps long term reliability.
